Train timetable changes

The second Sunday in December is the annual timetable change date for all train services in Norway. These are the changes that will apply to our train services from Sunday, 13 December 2026.

For most passengers, the changes in 2027 will be minor. The most significant changes affect the Vestfold Line, services between Norway and Sweden, and selected departures in Eastern Norway.

  • Shorter journey times on the Vestfold Line
  • Horten station replaces Skoppum station
  • Faster trains between Oslo and Stockholm
  • More connecting departures between Gothenburg and Malmö

Remember to check the new departure times

Planned railway works in 2027

Several planned engineering works will affect train services during 2027.

  • From 9 to 25 January, Bane NOR will close the Romeriksporten tunnel between Oslo S and Lillestrøm. This affects the RE10, RE11, R12, R13 and R14 services. These trains will be diverted around the tunnel and will therefore have revised timetables and slightly longer journey times between Oslo S and Lillestrøm. The L1 service will be replaced by rail replacement buses during this period to provide capacity for the other train services.
  • Additional engineering works are planned at Oslo S throughout the year, including a major closure during the main summer holiday period.
  • Bane NOR has also planned engineering works during Easter 2027 and on several routes in Eastern Norway during summer 2027. Please also note that train services operate special timetables during public holidays and festive periods.

Timetables during holidays and public holidays

During Christmas, Easter, the summer holidays and public holidays, trains operate to different timetables. Remember to check the details in the journey planner before you travel during these periods.
