Fewer trains in service in Eastern Norway from 2 November 2026

Published 30 October 2026 at 12:06

From Monday, 2 November, there will unfortunately be changes to several train services in Eastern Norway. Some trains will have fewer carriages than normal, and some services will be cancelled. See how this affects your journey.

Why are we making these changes?

On the evening of Sunday, 25 October, a fire started around the wheels of a Flirt train at Lillestrøm station. All passengers were safely evacuated, and no one was injured.

We have taken some trains out of service while we investigate the cause. Unfortunately, this means that some services will operate with one train set instead of two, and some services will be cancelled.

We understand that fewer and shorter trains can make your journey more difficult, and we are sorry that this is affecting your journey.

How does this affect you?

For some of the cancelled services, we are running rail replacement buses. You can find these in the journey planner. If you have bought a ticket in the Vy app for a journey that is replaced by a rail replacement bus, your ticket will be updated with the new information.

Other services will be cancelled without a rail replacement bus and will therefore not appear in the journey planner.

Check the list below to see whether this applies to a service you normally use. If you have bought a single ticket for an affected service, you can use your ticket on the next available service.
