Replacement buses will continue to run between Gjøvik and Roa

Published 6 November 2026 at 12:08

Bane NOR has announced that the line between Roa and Gjøvik will remain closed to train services until at least Wednesday, 11 November 2026. Unfortunately, this means that we will continue to run replacement buses on this section.

Why is the line closed?

rains between Roa and Gjøvik have been cancelled since Monday, 2 November due to unstable communication between the train traffic controller and the signalling system. Bane NOR is extending the closure until they are confident that train services can operate safely.

How the replacement buses will run

We are running replacement buses between Gjøvik and Roa. Buses towards Roa depart earlier than the trains normally do, so that you can make your connection with the onward train from Roa. This wording aligns with Vy’s customer-information templates for replacement buses connecting with onward trains.

Remember to check departure times and where the buses stop in the journey planner in the Vy app or at vy.no before you travel. The journey planner is updated up to and including Monday, 9 November, and will be updated continuously.

We understand that travelling by replacement bus can make your journey more difficult, and we are sorry that we cannot run trains for the entire journey.
