How to travel between Trondheim and Oslo
Travel directly with the night bus
With Vy express VY710, you can go to sleep in Trondheim and wake up in Oslo. The express bus runs every night, allowing you to travel without transfers.
We operate the route Trondheim–Lillehammer–Oslo with double-decker buses equipped with toilets, seat belts, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and charging facilities. If you reserve a seat on the upper deck, you will enjoy extra comfort and more legroom. Single seats and seats with panoramic views are also available.
Travel during the day with bus and train
When you travel with Vy between Trondheim and Oslo during the day, you must change from bus to train at Lillehammer. The bus station is a 2-minute walk from the train station.
If you are travelling to Trondheim, the bus will wait if the train to Lillehammer is late. Please note that this does not apply to the night departure from Oslo. If you are travelling from Trondheim to Oslo and the bus is late, your ticket will be valid for the next R10 train service.
The journey from Trondheim to Oslo by bus and train takes around 7 hours and 30 minutes.
Note that the stops between Trondheim and Lillehammer/Oslo are only serviced if a ticket has been purchased in advance.
