Lowfare

The ticket for travellers who wants our cheapest travel option. Lowfare is one of our most popular tickets, and there are a limited number of tickets – so be sure to book early.

Lowfare – in short

  • Book early to get a Lowfare ticket.
  • You cannot combine Lowfare with other discounts.
  • The ticket cannot be changed or refunded.
  • The ticket can only be used for the departure for which it was purchased.

Terms and conditions for Lowfare

  • Lowfare ticket holders on trains on the Bergen Line will be allocated a seat prior to travel. No seating restrictions apply on trains in Eastern Norway, meaning you can sit in any available seat. On some departures in Eastern Norway you can purchase a seat reservation to be guaranteed a seat. Read more about seat reservations.
  • Lowfare tickets cannot be changed, upgraded or refunded.
  • Lowfare tickets cannot be combined with any other discounts such as student or senior citizen rates. Children 0-5 years old travel with Lowfare free of charge.
  • Dogs and/or bicycles will incur additional cost. Wheelchairs and strollers are carried free of charge.
  • A four-hour cancellation period applies from the time of purchase if you buy your ticket on vy.no, in the app or from a ticket machine, provided the ticket is cancelled prior the time of departure.
