Privacy policy for travel payment cards
With a travel payment card you can travel on an electronic Vy or Ruter ticket. Vy and Ruter deliver public transportation services in Oslo and Akershus and cooperate on the card system.
To make your travel and customer experience as easy and user friendly as possible, Vy and Ruter need to access customer data that reside in each others’ systems. Both Vy and Ruter will use said customer data in connection with journeys, to update travel payment cards, and as part of the service we provide to you as our customer. The data will not be used for marketing purposes without your express advance approval.
If you have registered your travel card with one company and buy a personally identifiable ticket from a different company, your contact data will be used to associate you with the personally identifiable ticket.
Vy is the Data Controller responsible for customer data and will handle such data in accordance with Norway’s Personal Data Act. If you are registered in our system, you have the right to view all the data we hold that relates to you; you are also entitled to have changes made or data added or removed by contacting us. If you cancel your customer agreement and return your card, your customer data that we have will be deleted. As long as the card is in use or has not been returned, we must retain your customer data.
If you at a later date, opt to use your travel payment card with another public transportation company with which Vy cooperates, an exchange of customer information will be made.
