What are Rest compartments like and how many can travel together in each compartment?

Rest compartments are an option on the night train for smaller groups of up to six people who want to travel together. You are automatically assigned your own compartment when you buy a Rest ticket. All of your travelling companions must be registered when you book. Infants and children are assigned their own berths and count towards the maximum number of passengers per compartment.

Each Rest compartment has six berths offering simple comfort. Night packs with a sheet, pillow and small fleece blanket are included and you make up the berths yourself. Each berth has a reading light and USB port.

Pets are allowed when travelling in a Rest compartment. Any dog taller than 40 cm counts towards the number of occupied berths in the compartment. Dogs must be kept on the floor. Folded pushchairs can be stored in the adjoining shared luggage compartment, at your own risk.
