Vy sustainability policy
We apply the precautionary principle to our work on sustainability and CSR. This means we use risk analyses as the basis for corporate governance and take action to manage risk.
Materiality, objectives and leadership
- We have implemented stakeholder and materiality assessments in order to identify and prioritise the areas that we need to work on and to ensure that we have taken into account our own assessments and the assessments of others with regard to the Group’s exercising of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
- All company managers are responsible for ensuring that their unit respects our sustainability objectives and corporate social responsibility in the way in which the unit conducts its activities.
- Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are incorporated into our strategic foundation and our values.
Principles we support
- Vy is helping to fulfil the UN’s Sustainable Development GoalsExternal link.
- We endorse the principles set down in the UN Declaration of Human RightsExternal link, the ILO Core ConventionsExternal link and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational EnterprisesExternal link.
Fighting corruption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- We work actively to prevent all forms of corruption.
- We work actively to reduce the environmental impact of the transport sector.
Reporting and certifications
- We report annually on the status and development of corporate social responsibility through our annual and sustainability report in accordance with the GRI standard "Core option"External link.
- We report on our own and our suppliers’ greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the international standard for climate reporting, the Greenhouse Gas ProtocolExternal link - Scope 1, 2 and 3.
- Our activities are certified in accordance with: Environment 14001, Quality 9001, Working Environment 45001 and Traffic Safety 39001.
Membership of climate alliances
- We have signed the Greenwashing PledgeExternal link, which constitutes guidance that can be compared to the Be Cautious Pledge for the media.
- Vy is a member of the Ethical Trading InitiativeExternal link (in Norwegian), the purpose of which is to promote responsible supply chains.
- Vy is a member of Industry for ClimateExternal link (in Norwegian) and we have signed a “Climate Contract” with the City of Oslo in order to actively contribute to the Oslo climate targets and lead the way as a climate-responsible role model in the capital.
- We are also a control member of Green Dot NorwayExternal link (Grønt Punkt Norge) and we fulfil our statutory responsibilities for the collection and recycling of packaging.
