Interrail – experience Europe by train
An Interrail pass lets you discover Europe by train. The price depends on the number of travel days and your age. Interrail passes are available for youth, adults, families, and seniors.
When purchasing an Interrail pass you may opt to travel throughout Europe or ride only within a single country. An Interrail pass also features many other advantages.
Here’s how you can purchase an Interrail pass:
Select the pass that best suits you and your needs:
- Youth pass, from 12 to 28 years of age
- Interrail for adults, from 28 years of age
- Interrail for seniors, above 60 years of age, at a discounted price
- Family discount, up to two children under the age of 12 per adult will travel free of charge
Interrail passes cannot be booked earlier than 11 months prior to your initial train departure. A NOK 195 booking fee applies to Interrail tickets purchased in Norway.
Interrail Global Pass
Your pass is valid throughout Europe, and you may choose to pay for a limited or unlimited number of travel days within a set period. You may choose among 10 different Global Pass options.
If you purchase one of the Flexi options, you may choose which days you would like to travel within the limits of your pass validity.
Your Interrail pass is not valid for travel in the country in which you reside, but may be used for one departure from and one return journey to your country of residence. Such journeys must be completed within the limits of the pass’ overall validity and must be completed within a single day.
However, travellers to and from Northern Norway destinations are allowed up to two travel days per direction if necessary.
Interrail One Country Pass
Purchasing a Interrail One Country Pass entitles you to railway travel within a single country. You can choose among nearly every European country. You may not purchase a One Country Pass for Norway if that is your country of permanent residence.
The pass features multiple pricing levels. You will find prices for your holiday destination travel in the price list.
Consider doing some cost-conscious shopping: pair your Interrail One Country Pass with low-cost airline tickets in order to stretch your budget and spend more time exploring your holiday country.
Seat reservations
Some trains have mandatory or optional seat reservations. Please allow for additional charges for seat reservations and, if needed, sleeping car compartment reservations.
