Food service on the train
The Bergen Line
On the Bergen Line you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold dishes in our café (Vy Kafé), where pure ingredients, good flavours and local affiliation have been in focus. Our range includes smoothies, main courses, baked goods and desserts, as well as a varied assortment of beverages.
The menu is carefully composed so that there will be something for everyone. Among other things, there are several allergy-friendly options in addition to vegan dishes. On our night trains, we offer a simpler evening menu. Our café remains open throughout your journey.

Yes, you are welcome to consume your own food and (non-alcoholic) drinks in your seat. Seats in the café are reserved for passengers who buy food and drink on board the train. In situations where we have to organize alternative transport (bus), it is the driver who decides whether it is ok to enjoy food/drink brought on board the bus.

Wifi and power outlets on the train
We offer free wireless internet access on board our regional services and most local services. Some of the older trains on the following services do not offer internet access: Ski–Oslo S, Spikkestad–Asker–Lillestrøm, Stabekk–Moss, the Bratsberg Line and the Bergen Line.
How to connect to wifi on board
Connect to the wifi network, Vy-wifi or NSB_Interaktiv, to access the internet. Then click the ‘Log on’ button. You do not need to register or enter a username or password.
We cannot guarantee stable internet access
Onboard coverage can be unstable on some sections, especially in tunnels and deep valleys. You can use your mobile network (4G) on your mobile phone as an alternative. If you continue to experience unstable access, this is due to inadequate coverage along the route you are travelling. If you want to work or watch a film on your journey, we recommend downloading the documents or content before your journey starts.
Bane NOR is working on improving mobile and broadband access in tunnels throughout Norway. This will improve the quality and stability of internet access in the future.
There are no power outlets on old local trains, but on new local trains (called Flirt trains) you will find outlets at every seat.
Trains on the lines Lillehammer–Oslo–Drammen, Eidsvoll–Oslo–Skien and Oslo–Halden–Gothenburg have power outlets by all seats. However, old train types that are used as extra trains during rush hour have outlets only in the seat reservation compartment.
Trains on the line Oslo–Bergen have power outlets at every seat.
There are power outlets in all sleeper compartments.
The outlets are 230V.
