Changes on the RE11 Vestfold Line

How the trains will run

Trains will operate as normal between Asker and Eidsvoll throughout the period.

Trains will also operate between Stokke and Skien, but several departures will have amended timetables, departing 30 minutes earlier than usual. These trains will also run with fewer carriages than normal.

Rail replacement service

This will be a long period of engineering work, but we will make sure you can travel safely and easily to your destination. We have arranged a large number of extra buses, and you will find additional customer guides at the busiest stations to help you with your journey.

How the buses will operate:

• Rail replacement buses will operate between Asker/Drammen and the stations at Drammen, Sande, Holmestrand, Horten and Stokke while the work is taking place.
• We will also operate dedicated direct buses between Asker and Tønsberg, and between Asker and Horten, with departures up to every 10 minutes during peak hours.

• When the work is completed, the new Horten station will open for train services. The new modern station will include a park-and-ride facility with up to 600 parking spaces, a bicycle hotel and two heated waiting rooms. The new station will replace the current Skoppum station, which will close permanently when Horten station opens.
• Have you saved Skoppum as a favourite route or station in the Vy app, or subscribed to travel alerts for journeys to or from Skoppum? Remember to change this to Horten station after 22 November so that you continue to receive the travel information you need.

Why is the line closed?

Bane NOR is building a new double track section from Nykirke, south of Holmestrand, to Barkåker, north of Tønsberg, to enable higher speeds and more departures on the Vestfold Line.
