For all customers to travel safely and our employees to have a safe and appropriate working environment, we focus on three priority areas: traffic safety, safe customers and safe colleagues.

Vy will contribute towards safer transport of people and freight. We will work to further reduce the number of adverse events and dangerous situations to prevent injuries and fatalities.

How we work with traffic safety
Certified by the Norwegian Railway Authority
The safety of the railways in Norway is one of the best in Europe, according to European accident statistics.
Bane NOR is responsible for operating the infrastructure, and thus the safety of the tracks.
Training of train personnel
All our train drivers must complete a basic training course. In Norway, this is at the Norwegian Train Driver School, others are, for example, the Transport Competence Center in Sweden. The conductors receive thorough training as trainee conductors. All train personnel participate in ongoing internal training to, ensure safety on the train, among other things.
Traffic safety management system
The tasks of Traffic Safety in Vy’s train operations are to ensure that a well-functioning system for traffic safety management has been established. The system will ensure that we meet both the authorities’ requirements, internal requirements and society’s expectations for safe and secure transport. Traffic safety is a professional resource within, among other things, risk management, emergency preparedness, security, investigation and treatment of unwanted incidents.
Our modern bus fleet is updated with the latest in safety equipment and all buses are equipped with seat belts.
