Train traffic status and routes
There may be errors in the real-time information in cases where the trains make up lost time due to a delay. We therefore recommend that you get to the train station at the original departure time, so that you can make your departure.
You may travel by train quickly, reasonably and with frequent departures to and from Oslo Airport/Gardermoen, Trondheim Airport/Værnes, and Torp Airport/Sandefjord.
You may also take a Vy bus to/from Oslo Airport and Trondheim Airport.
Yes you can, but you must buy a bus ticket. Your train ticket is not valid on buses, unless the bus is a rail replacement bus service replacing your cancelled train. This is because there is currently no cooperation on tickets between trains and buses in Vy.
Were you travelling with Go-Ahead or SJ NORD? Contact their customer service to apply for compensation for the delay.
Do you have a season ticket for trains on this stretch? If you do, your ticket is valid for all departures so you can take the next train at no extra cost.
During rush hour, all available trains are in use. We are doing our best to match demand with the right capacity, but still it’s not possible to provide seating for all passengers.
There may be several reasons why a train is crowded. For instance, if a previous departure was delayed or cancelled, it could entail that the next departure will have more passengers than usual. Sometimes situations outside of our control could force us to have departures with less carriages than planned.
Is it safe to travel when the train is crowded?
Yes, it is safe. Safety is very important to us, and we do nothing to compromise safety. The fact that there are more passengers than there are seats is not a safety risk in itself. Nor is the fact that it is cramped to stand. The trains can have at least as many standing passengers as seated passengers, and this does not affect the braking system, carrying capacity or evacuation in an emergency.
