The world’s longest art gallery

Stockholm has an extensive metro network, perfect for those arriving by train. Not only is the metro handy for getting around, it also doubles as the world’s longest art gallery. Almost all of the 100 stations feature various forms of art, such as paintings, statues and light installations. We therefore recommend taking some extra time to explore all of the unique stations throughout the city and making a few additional stops along the way to experience as much of the magnificent art as possible.

The story of Sweden’s biggest pop phenomenon

The ABBA Museum is a colourful, interactive museum that looks at the history of the band. Everything from the band members’ childhoods to how they became a global sensation to where they are now. You can see their original outfits, instruments and other memorabilia from ABBA throughout the years. The museum also offers experiences such as karaoke and quizzes. You can also feel like the fifth member of ABBA by sharing a holographic stage with the band.

Classical art in magnificent surroundings

If you appreciate art, we recommend visiting Konstakademien (the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts). The historic building dating from 1735 is a reason to visit in itself, but it also boasts several art exhibitions that are well worth exploring. Admission to the Academy is free, so there is no reason not to visit! After marvelling at all the beautiful art and architecture, it will be the perfect time to take a break at the Konstakademien cafeteria.
