The summer city of Malmö
Vy runs trains to Malmö, a fantastic city offering beaches, splendid sights, and a delightful restaurant and nightlife scene. From Malmö, you can easily travel further into Europe.

Trendy, surprising and modern city
Many have likely heard of Malmö but may know little about the fantastic offerings of this gem of a summer city – sandy beaches, a cycling paradise and city life.

Lunch in the courtyard at Ruths
We recommend having lunch here and choosing dishes to share. They also have a set menu with the kitchen's choice of starter, main course, coffee, and 'fika'. The restaurant is just a seven-minute walk from Malmö Central Station.
Aster – A hidden gem in a factory building
In an old warehouse near the quayside that once housed the city's shipyard, this restaurant has emerged. The interior of the premises is in harmony with the industrial and rustic building. They also have a lovely outdoor seating area decorated with plants, fairy lights, and several cosy seating arrangements.

Slottsträdgården (The Castle Garden)
In the Heart of Malmö This lovely garden is an open, organic garden in the middle of Malmö. Here, you can wander for hours and explore several different themed gardens, such as Japanese, Linnaean, and climate gardens. If you don't want to check in (to accommodation), you can at least check out the insect hotel of approximately 25 cubic metres located in the garden – perhaps one of the world's largest? It's also possible to join events such as various guided tours and viewings of different parts of the garden.
If you need a refreshing break during your visit, you should head to Slottsträdgården. Here, you can sit down on the large outdoor terrace surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants. They also have lovely indoor seating in the furnished greenhouse, and a nice indoor café area.
Folkets Park (The People's Park)
This is a 130-year-old public park that is open 24 hours a day, all year round. It's the perfect park for families with children and friends alike. In the park, there are several restaurants, kiosks, and cafés. Additionally, there's mini-golf, a reptile park, a paddling pool, stages, skate ramps, playgrounds, a boules court, events, and much more to experience!
Folkets Park is a 30-minute walk (2.3 kilometres) from the train station, but if you rent a bicycle, it's only a 12-minute bike ride.

Experience the city's attractions by bicycle
The landscape is mostly flat, which makes Malmö an incredibly great cycling city. You can get everywhere as the city has systematically invested in the development of cycling infrastructure in recent years. At the train station, you'll find a large bicycle parking area, and bicycle rentals are easy to find around the city.
Ribersborg beach
This beautiful 1.5-kilometre beach is Malmö's most visited beach – and for good reason! 'Ribban', as the locals call it, facilitates activities such as beach volleyball, outdoor gyms, football, basketball, and the rental of SUP boards and kayaks. The beach also has toilet facilities, showers, and designated barbecue areas. There are separate areas for naturist bathing, and a dog park and beach.
Öresund Bridge
If you cycle past Ribersborg Beach, you should continue to the viewpoint for the Öresund Bridge. A truly lovely bike ride along the coast that ends with the sight of the Nordic region's longest bridge and tunnel link, at 15.9 kilometres. The Öresund connection stretches from Sweden to Denmark. So, if you fancy a little day trip to Denmark, you can hop on the train in Malmö and arrive in Copenhagen in 40 minutes.
Turning Torso
This 190-metre-high building is worth the bike ride. The skyscraper is the third tallest in Scandinavia and has 54 floors with a 90-degree twist – quite a sight when you can see it move with the wind.
Travel Further into Europe
From Malmö, the way to the rest of Europe is short! There are several good connections with night trains and day trains to both Hamburg and Berlin from Malmö Central Station.
