Enjoy nature and the fresh air in Helsingborg
Helsingborg is the perfect destination for those who appreciate beautiful surroundings and the stunning ocean views towards Denmark. The town has a calm and cosy atmosphere, but there are always experiences to be had. Here, you can stroll along the seafront, explore quaint streets and enjoy delicious meals with views across the water.
Beach life, golf or a bicyle ride?
A large part of life in Helsingborg takes place outdoors. The town is situated on the coast and boasts several beautiful beaches where you can enjoy swimming or strolling on the sand. You can also rent a bicycle or electric bike to explore the areas outside the town. Perhaps you fancy stopping for a round of golf at one of the best courses in Sweden?

Gardens and parks
We recommend that you visit at least one of the beautiful gardens and parks in the city of Helsingborg.
Sofiero
At Sofiero Palace and Gardens, you can explore the exhibits inside the historic palace and take a stroll among the plants in the gardens. Sofiero is the former summer residence of the Swedish royal family, a fact reflected in the property’s magnificent appearance. The Palace gardens are known for having northern Europe's largest collection of rhododendrons. So if you visit Helsingborg during the flowering season from mid-May to mid-June, a visit to Sofiero is a must.
Fredriksdal
In the heart of Helsingborg, you'll find Fredriksdal Museum and Gardens, an open-air museum where you can take a stroll around the parks and historic buildings. If you love plants, Fredriksdal Museum and Gardens offers a herb garden, a botanical garden, a kitchen garden and several different parks, as well as other attractions. History buffs can also explore a variety of historic buildings and streets from different periods and regions in Skåne, Halland and Småland. In addition, Fredriksdal is home to farm animals of endangered breeds, which you can meet and learn more about.

Visit the beautiful vineyards
Beautiful vineyards might be something you associate with warmer climates but there are several just outside Helsingborg. We recommend renting a bike to visit one of the idyllic vineyards. You could even plan a wine journey through several vineyards. At the vineyards, you will be able to join guided tours to learn more about vine growing in Sweden and taste wine produced from the vines cultivated at the vineyard.

One destination, two countries
Another place you can easily visit from Helsingborg is Denmark, specifically Helsingør. The town is known, among other things, from Shakespeare's play Hamlet and, as an 800-year-old port city, is steeped in history. From downtown Helsingborg, it’s just a 20-minute ferry ride to Helsingør, where there are plenty of new things to explore on this side of the Øresund strait.
