Sunny outdoor seating and stylish interior

Big Fish has ample outdoor seating on its decking and there are ramps in place to allow for wheelchair access. Their outdoor seating is divided into a number of zones, so you can settle down beneath the lilacs, in the centre taking the sun, or among the rose bushes which offer pleasant shade.

Inside there is a stylish contrast between the elegant chandeliers, generously-proportioned windows and the white ceiling set against the dark floor, black furniture and white sailcloth hanging from the rafters.

The coastal path from Skjærhalden to Storesand

The coastal path takes you along pristine beaches, through windswept landscapes and around the delightful archipelago. Do note that the route features varied terrain including rocks and scree underfoot, as well as tall grass and woods. The trail is well-marked: you’ll find the blue signposts on rocks, trees and posts.

Storesand Visitor Centre and Café

The old outdoor centre at Storesand has had quite the makeover. It now features a beautiful, brand new visitor centre and sanitary facilities, including toilets and showers, for beachgoers and campers alike. At the visitor centre, kids can learn more about national parks, nature conservation and the protection of vulnerable plants and species through a range of activities and games.

During the summer season, there is a beach café open at the visitor centre from 10:00 to 22:00. The café offers ice creams, waffles, sweets, salads, as well as hot mains including hot dogs, burgers, traditional “biffsnadder” and fish and chips. Prices range from NOK 60 to NOK 210. There is also a wide range of beverages available, including fizzy drinks, energy drinks, hot chocolate, coffee and a limited selection of alcoholic options. Visitors are welcome to settle down on the picnic benches outside the café.
