Here you will find information about what personal data is processed and how it is processed when you use vy.no.
When you use our website (vy.no) you can choose to only share your email address with us to book a trip.
Purpose of processing
In order to be able to respond to requests you make during travel searches and purchases, we need your IP address and email address.
Personal data we process at vy.no
- The IP address is used to respond to requests and to set location to carry out travel searches.
- Your email address is used to send you tickets and receipts.

The processing is necessary to fulfil our agreement on travel search and ticketing with you.
Cloud solution
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a cloud solution, and this is where the aforementioned personal data is stored. Communication between the website and the cloud solution takes place over a secure connection (HTTPS), and access to the data in the cloud solution is restricted.
Statistics and diagnostics
In order to improve the user experience of the website, some of the activities on the website wilil be logged to Datadog. Datadog is used to monitor our channels for errors and to troubleshoot any issues in our services. The data stored in Datadog will be deleted after three months.
The data is also stored in Databricks, where it is used to generate statistics which can help us improve our services.

More about purchasing without a Vy profile
You can buy tickets and other travel services at vy.no without being logged in with a Vy profile. You can choose to receive your ticket by email for some routes, but local tickets must be downloaded in the Vy app.
When purchasing tickets, we only process your IP address, location based on IP address and e-mail address. The payment information is only stored with our payment provider.
If you buy tickets and travel services without a Vy profile, we cannot notify you if problems arise with your journey.
In some cases, our suppliers and partners will require the name, age and date of birth of travellers to be disclosed in order to prevent misuse of tickets. Where our suppliers and partners require this, we will also ask for this in order to be able to implement the agreement between you and this supplier/carrier.
