Bus traffic status and routes
The easiest way is to use Google Maps. Search for the stop and choose the option with a bus icon if this appears. Click on the red marker that pops up in the map to see which buses stop here.
You can also search for place names and look around on the map for different stops to see whether our buses stop there. Stops are marked by a bus icon.
Do you have a season ticket for trains on this stretch? If you do, your ticket is valid for all departures so you can take the next train at no extra cost.
Were you travelling with Go-Ahead or SJ NORD? Contact their customer service to apply for compensation for the delay.
Yes you can, but you must buy a bus ticket. Your train ticket is not valid on buses, unless the bus is a rail replacement bus service replacing your cancelled train. This is because there is currently no cooperation on tickets between trains and buses in Vy.
Airport buses and shuttle buses at the airport
We have airport buses that operate from Fredrikstad to Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) and from the centre of Ålesund to Ålesund Airport. Several of our express buses also stop at Oslo Airport.
When you take a Vy bus to the airport, it is important that you allow sufficient time. You should allow at least 60 minutes in addition to the airline check-in time. Remember that domestic and international flights have different requirements for check-in times.
For journeys where you have allowed yourself less than 60 minutes in addition to check-in time, no claims can be made for refunds for alternative transportation or other incurred expenses due to missed flight connections.
Usual check-in times at airports:
- Domestic: Check-in at least 1 hour before departure.
- International: Check-in at least 1.5 hours before departure.
- Charter flights: Check-in desks open 2 hours before departure and close 1 hour prior to departure.
- Direct flights to the USA: Please note that special rules apply for direct flights to the USA. Check-in normally starts 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour prior to departure. Check with your airline to find out what applies for your flight.
You can buy ticket on vy.no, in the Vy app, on board the bus, in hotel reception, or at the ticket vending machines at the hotel stops. You can also buy tickets at the Oslo Airport stop, on the lower level.
A single adult ticket costs NOK 80. Up to 4 children under 16 can travel for free with an adult.
