Identification

When travelling abroad, a border control may take place when the train crosses national borders. Remember to bring your passport (or national ID card).

Have you purchased a discount ticket? Remember to bring any proof, such as your student ID.

Boarding

It can be a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. This means you will have enough time to board and find your seat.

Where can I get on and off?

The line number of the train is RE20 and the service starts from Oslo S. The train runs to Malmö every weekend, as well as during holidays. This summer, we will operate two daily departures in each direction from 27 June to 9 August. It may be helpful to check the journey planner or the timetable for an overview.

The train usually stops at the stations on the Østfold Line, followed by Ed and Trollhättan before arriving in Gothenburg. From Gothenburg, the train stops at Varberg, Halmstad, Helsingborg and Lund before Malmö C. The train also stops at the same stations on the way back to Oslo S from Malmö C

Facilities on board the train

  • The train has three toilets, one of which is equipped with a baby changing table.
  • There is plenty of space for your luggage on the shelves above the seats, as well as dedicated luggage racks.
  • If you get a bit peckish, you’ll find a vending machine where you can buy snacks and hot and cold beverages.
  • There is WiFi on the train, but the coverage can be poor – perhaps you will finally have the time to read that book?

Bringing a bicycle

If you are bringing a bicycle, you need to remember to book space in advance. Do this when you buy your ticket. There are limited bicycle spaces on board and it is therefore a good idea to book early. If you turn up without a booking, the train conductor may not let you bring your bike if there is no vacant space.
